TLA is a K-12 tuition-free public charter school opening in the Fall of 2021. With a strong academic focus, career exploration and experience, a joyful culture, and high expectations for staff and students, ALL children will learn and succeed at TLA. Any Wisconsin resident scholar is welcome to apply and eligible to attend, including scholars with special needs and English Learners. I have been in physical therapy practice for over 30 years and have been most intrigued by those conditions that are resistant to the conventional approach. This has led me down the path of alternative and complementary practices for which I continue to have a passion for further learning. A restored 1868 grist mill, located in Rock, Co Wisconsin. Open 1-4pm Saturday and Sunday, May through October.Beckman Mill is located at Beckman Mill County Park,  6 miles west of Beloit, Wisconsin. On the grounds of the 50-acre county park you will see an authentically restored 1868 grist mill, a new dam, mill pond,fish ladder, foot bridge, saw mill display, 1840s cooperage, visitor center, gift shop, creamery, blacksmith shop, picnic shelter, vintage garden, nature trail and more.The showpiece of the park is the Beckman Mill, the restoration of which was completed in 1997 by the Friends of Beckman Mill’s volunteer work crew. It is operational with power being supplied by its original 1860s water driven Leffel turbine. In the event alternate power is needed, the mill can be operated by its vintage two-cylinder gasoline engine.The mill was built shortly after the Civil War by millwright William Howe of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. In 1882 it was acquired by August Beckmann who had previously operated mills in nearby Juda and Hanover. The mill was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

Dog Paddle Beach is a canine swimming facility. It is a 21' round swimming pool which is inside so we swim all year round. The heated pool is 54" deep and the 90 degree water provides a relaxing comfortable environment. There is a self serve wash and dry station to use after swimming. Swimming is an excellent non-weight bearing, cardio exercise. Swimming is good for any dog who has just had ACL surgery, chronic arthritis, degenerative myelopathy, needs to loose weight, has too much energy, or just wants to have fun.

Mission StatementTalcott Free Library is a strong community partner that provides a friendly, safe space for generations, young and old, to strengthen their knowledge and enrich their lives. Library HistoryIn 1875, a Public Library Association was organized in Rockton of which each person had to pay to use the collection.  13 years later, in June of 1888, the Honorable Wait A. Talcott donated a building to Rockton Township to be used as a library, providing the town would organize under the laws of Illinois and vote to establish a tax to support the library. The original building was constructed in 1854 as a feed and grain store; Wait’s son William paid for the repair of the building to become a library, including a new roof, his brother Thomas donated a nucleus of books, and W. W. Austin installed electric lights. Talcott Free Library was dedicated on August 22, 188,9, and named such because the public no longer had to pay to use the collection.
