Our organization objective is to provide a non intrusive environment that fosters veterans coming out of themselves and engaging with others while improving their outlook week by week. Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI) have been identified as the long lasting legacies of the recent Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. We have developed a program that is making a difference for veterans struggling with these issues. This program serves veterans of all conflicts who are challenged, disabled, in transition, and/or suffer from the effects of PTSD or TBI. Admission to the program requires a referral from a VA mental health professional. Licensed mental health professions have found this program to be as, or more, effective than some of the more traditional therapies.

We are a non profit rescue designed for the young, injured, sick or abandoned. We deal mostly with emergencies and we do not rehome pets.

Volunteers provide the foundation of this program. Our "special delivery teams" venture out in all kinds of weather to deliver not only good nutrition, but caring and compassion. Additionally, the daily safety check is an intagible benefit of the program which remains "priceless." For many clients, the only social contact they might have each day is that Meals On Wheels volunteer.

Nature At The Confluence is a new urban environmental center that opened in 2017. We invite you to stop in for a visit to discover nature right in the middle of an urban area! We’re located on property surrounded by the Rock River, Turtle Creek and Kelly Creek, and you’ll find scenic beauty during every season. The campus offers a 5-acre prairie restoration, learning gardens, pollinator gardens and we have programs throughout the year for all ages and interests!
